2010 Mens Finals Qualified Players List

Competitions to be conducted are all the usual Junior competitions; Men’s A Grade, A Reserve, B Grade, B Reserve, C Grade, C Reserve and Youth League; Women’s A Grade, B Grade, C Grade and D Grade.  | Since my lost blog, we have gone 2-3. Pretty disappointing for us as all games were ones we could have and should have won. We took on Werribee at home (thank god) and went down by 11.  | Melbourne turned on some awesome autumn weather for the biggest day in the season at the Hawthorn Basketball Association. Despite the sun shining and it being a perfect day to spend outdoors, the action was indoors at the Boroondara Sports Complex, Methodist Ladies College and Xavier College where each of the divisions of the junior competition were represented by the two best teams who fought it out for the title. 2009 Rule Changes For All Hawthorn Competitions

 | Every few years FIBA, basketball’s sports governing body conducts a review into the rules of the game and makes changes to improve our sport. Recent reviews have resulted in changes to the rule book in 2006 and again in October 2008. However, there has been some confusion into which rules apply at domestic level at Hawthorn. A decision has been made to implement all rule changes with some minor modifications for practical reasons to suit our domestic and representative competitions. [More Details] |
Working With Children Checks

 | The Working with Children (WWC) Check commenced in April 2006 and it contributes to the safety of Victoria’s children when they are being cared for, or participating in a range of activities. The WWC Check creates a mandatory minimum checking standard across Victoria. The WWC Check helps to keep children safe by preventing those who pose a risk to the safety of children from working with them, in either paid or volunteer work...The Hawthorn Basketball Association is currently working to phase in the WWC Checks.
