Magic at the BigV Awards

On September 12th, the annual Big V Awards Presentation Dinner was held in Moonee Valley to celebrate the season. The dinner was attended by Basketball Australia hall of famers Andrew Gaze and Michele Timms. Also on hand were some of Hawthorn Magic's finest, some of whom were rewarded for their achievements this season with prestigious awards.

Guard Luke Neilson capped off his stellar first season for the Magic with his selection in the Division One Men All Star Five. Jerry Juric also had a first season to remember for the Magic with his selection as forward in the Youth League Two Men All Star Five in addition to winning the Rising Star award. The consistent performances of Youth League Two Men captain Zac Barry saw him selected as centre in the All Star Five to go with his Finals MVP trophy. While Youth League Women coach Nathan Arousi was named coach of the year.
