It’s Been A Long Time...
Sorry for the absence. Busy times, believe me Loft hasn’t even felt my presence in ages, but back to all things Magic.

Div 1...
Since my lost blog, we have gone 2-3. Pretty disappointing for us as all games were ones we could have and should have won. We took on Werribee at home (thank god) and went down by 11. Shooting 32% from the field is never going to get it done, and defensively we just couldn’t stop some of their key players. Round 5 was another home game against Whittlesea Pacers, and we dropped that one by 3. Walking off the court hearing that team screaming at the top of their lungs about he they destroyed us on our home court was not something you or your fans want to hear. Of course it was being yelled by one of Jezza’s mates that knows all too well about taking “supplements” to the next level, but it sucked all the same. Rounds 6 and 7 were win and win. We got it done over LaTrobe Uni quite easily and this was a game where we played as a unit and defense led to offense. The next win was against Warnambool at home and after an awesome first half we had to fend off a come back from the visitors to take the win by 6. Finally last week was away in Altona on Sunday (gross, I know.) We ended up losing this one 51-50. Everything about the game was pretty positive except for our shooting, we just couldn’t hit a thing. I still think we could run with New Jersey though.

Youth League…
Youth league boys are on a bit of a slide. After splitting round for with a loss against Melbourne and a win against Geelong, they have had 4 losses on the trot. There has been ups and downs with these boys, showing glimpses of last years championship basketball and other times watching teams proving that the difference between YL1 and YL2.

Best Looking Team In The League...
Now I’ve been saying since I started playing at Hawthorn that we are by far the best looking team in the league. Div 1? Got it on lock, YL boys? Handsome as hell, the women’s team’s? There is no comparison. So when I was asked to find some people to appear in a Nike Sportswear photo shoot, I knew exactly where to look. Coming Up…
This week the Div 1 boys head up to Sunbury to try knock off last years champions. We really need this to get our season back on track and it’s going to take a unified team effort to get it done. Youth League have a bye weekend so expect them to be at Loft from about 9:30pm onwards signing autographs and singing along to Gucci Mane’s newest mixtape.
