Magic feature in BigV Awards

At its annual awards night, BigV Basketball announced the award winners across all of its divisions for season 2011. For each division, the following awards were presented: Most Valuable Player, Coach of the Year, Rising Star and players selected to the All Star Five. Hawthorn Magic were well represented at this year's awards.

Following a very successful first year at the helm of the Division One Women (D1W) Magic team, where the team spent most of the year on top of the ladder before being eliminated by the eventual champions Mildura Heat in the semi finals, Magic coach Kelly Breazeale was named as the D1W Coach of the Year.

An integral part of Breazeale's team that made it to the finals was Georgia Stott who was a relentless workhorse in the paint all season. Stott's performances made her a standout on the stats page each week and on awards night, she picked up the Rising Star award and was selected into the All Star Five as a forward.

On the men's side of the Magic BigV program, Magic captain "Jazzy" Jay Allen added to his resume as he once again was selected into the Division One Men All Star Five in the guard position.

Well done to Kelly, Stotty and Jazzy for doing Hawthorn Magic proud!
