CHAMPIONSHIP MEN – Werribee 82 defeated Hawthorn 71
Werribee travelled to Hawthorn and used a 21-9 second-quarter to grab a rare win, displaying a 47% shooting clip to the Magic’s 33%. Darcy Harding was in top form with 30pts and David Cobb added a handy 22pts and 12rbs. In a disappointing game for the home team, young guns Ben Waldren (20pts, 16rbs) and Dave Schaffert (17pts) were the shining lights.

DIVISION 1 WOMEN – Whittlesea 83 defeated Hawthorn 57
Whittlesea had 2 big quarters which ultimately proved the difference in their 83-57 win over Hawthorn on Saturday evening. Kimetria Hayden return for the Pacers and shot 4/5 from range on her way to 21 points with Emmie O’Nial also having a big game for the visitors with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Jessica McKenzie scored 19 for the Magic at 8/12 from the field and the ever reliable Tash Ross-Harris had 15 points and 11 for the home side but it wasn’t enough. Whittlesea did exactly what they had to do to get the win

MOLTEN VIC YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP MEN – Hawthorn 65 defeated Keilor 57
Magic had a great first quarter defensively against Keilor with a 22-8 opening quarter had the home side on the back foot. Jack Barry’s 19 points and three steals, and Luke Sist’s 15p/13r led the way for a Magic victory.
