HBA to host Chinese Taipei

After the success of the University of Wisconsin international exhibition game in 2017, the Hawthorn Basketball Association (HBA) will again play host to an international team in 2018.

The HBA is pleased to announce that the Chinese Taipei Men’s National Team will play an exhibition game at the Boroondara Sports Complex on Saturday 4 August 2018.

Fresh off their World Cup Qualifying campaign that had them pitted against the mighty Australian Boomers outfit, the Chinese Taipei National Team will play against a selected AND1 All Star Team.

The AND1 All Stars team will consist of past and present NBL, SEABL and Big V players who will be looking to put on as show for basketball fans in Boroondara.

Further AND1 All Star team player announcements will be made next week.

The HBA is also hoping that the international exhibition event incorporates a Hawthorn Magic Big V Qualifying Final, with the Hawthorn Magic Senior Men in the box seat to make finals (& host a final) for the first time in the Big V State Championship Men’s division in club history. The Big V Men if successful would tip-off at 8:00pm following the Chinese Taipei and AND1 All Stars contest. Confirmation of the double header will be released on Monday 30 July.
