Magic Players Selected for Basketball Victoria Programs

Hawthorn Magic would like to congratulate the following athletes on their selection to represent Vic Metro in the Southern Cross Challenge early next year:

Ella Crump – u14 Girls
Samuel Grant – u14 Boys
Cooper Granger-u14 Boys
Amy Fisher –u15 Girls

The Southern Cross Challenge  enables some of the stronger u14 and u15 talent to play with and compete against other strong Vic Metro basketballers and also play against NSW Metro, SA Metro, SA Country, Vic Country, WA Metro and ACT.  Its purpose is to identify u14 and u15 players to experience the next step in their basketball pathway.

Magic would also like to congratulate the following athletes for being selected into Basketball Victoria’s National Intensive Training Program (“NITP”):

Lara Edmanson-u16 Girls
Lily Davies-u16 Girls
Tayah Kelly-u16 Girls
Sara Smith- u16 Girls
Henry Patel- u16 Boys
Marcus Emmett- u16 Boys
Noah Anderson- u16 Boys
Callan McDonald- u18 Boys
Nicholas Kiefer- u18 Boys

The aim of the NITP is to identify and select outstanding basketball athletes to train with a squad Sunday afternoons at the State Basketball Centre under the direction of High Performance Coaches to further develop their basketball skills.

The u16 athletes will also travel to Sydney in early January to compete in the East Coast Challenge against teams from other states.

Well done to all these players.
